Multimedia is a combination of computer and video or in general a combination of three elements, namely sound, image, and text or a combination of the two media bit input or output of data in the form of audio (sound and music). Multimedia term originated from the theater, not the computer. Performances that utilize more than one medium is often called multimedia performances. Multimedia systems started in the late 1980s with the introduction of Hypercard by Apple in 1987 and the announcement by IBM in 1989 on audio-visual software connection.
